Center Intern 2020-2022
Immaculata University, Masters in Music Therapy, LPC Track
Allison has been a volunteer at The Center for Loss and Bereavement in varying capacities since 2018, and is currently working towards her Masters in Music Therapy, LPC track, through Immaculata University. Prior to taking up this specialized course of study, Allison owned a small business as a vocal coach and professional soloist for over 15 years, stemming from her foundation Bachelor’s Degree in Music Studies from West Chester University.
Allison brings with her experience a natural empathic presence and a wealth of creative talents that have complimented her therapeutic skill development. Prior to taking on the role of Center Intern in the fall of 2020, Allison developed practicum experience as a music therapy student working with group participants in Easter Seals, Holisticare Hospice, and the Livengrin rehabilitation center.
Allison facilitates peer support groups in our adult and children’s programs, and is expanding her knowledge and experience in grief studies. Allison appreciates witnessing the level of empathy and care displayed in group sessions as members grow together and support one another. We are so thankful to have Allison join our team and welcome the compassion and creativity that she brings to our Center!
