Our Founders’ Board
“My continued support is based on the very real ongoing need for the services that the Center provides.”
Carl Sensenig
What initially drew you to the Center and inspired you to become a member of the Board?
Good friend and co-founder, Christine Smith asked if I would be interested in serving on the board back in 2004. It was a simple matter of saying yes to a dear friend and helping the Center in any way I could.
What has been the most meaningful part of being connected to the Center?
Two things come to mind, first the very positive impact the Center provides to children struggling with the loss of a dear family member or friend. Secondly, the time spent with fellow board members who gave of their time and talents for such a great cause.
Why have you continued to support this special mission over so many years?
My continued support is based on the very real ongoing need for the services that the Center provides. If any thing the importance of the mission has only increased over the years.
What are your hopes for people who come to the Center?
It is my continuing hope that people who avail themselves to the Center’s services would find peace and comfort as they progress through the grieving process; and that they find hope as they go forward following the loss of a loved one.
What would you say to someone who was considering volunteering with us in programming, on committees, or as a member of the board?
I suggest if you are interested in helping in any way with such an important mission, go ahead and give it a try. I did and ended up serving on the board for 14 years.
