Upcoming Spring Grief Webinar Series

Grief 101 : April 16, 2025 9:30-10:45am

Grief is a universal experience and yet it is a process that many struggle to conceptualize until we are met with it firsthand. Unprepared and often unaware of how to navigate the experience, we are left adrift in not understanding what our body is going through emotionally, cognitively, physically, socially, and spiritually – and not knowing if what we are experiencing is even “normal.” In this 1-hour webinar, we will introduce you to important grief topics including: demystifying old beliefs, reviewing up-to-date bereavement models/theories, explaining grieving styles, examining factors that impact grief, exploring coping strategies, and more.

More Than One Type of Grief?...It’s Complicated. April 23, 2025 9:30-10:45am

Not all grief is created equal. In fact, there are various types of grief that, when experienced, can impact an individual’s response and process. Join us in this 1-hour webinar as we introduce and explore the many types of grief including: absent, ambiguous, anticipatory, complicated, cumulative, collective, disenfranchised, secondary, stigmatized, traumatic, and prolonged.

Resilience, Rebirth & Resourcefulness April 30, 2025 9:30-10:45am

It is hard to imagine that suffering can be of any good when it feels so horrible. However, many individuals express that a rebirth or new mindset emerges out of grief, often referred to as post-traumatic growth. This 1-hour webinar will introduce and discuss the concept of resiliency and examine the role it plays in grief and loss. Join us as we discuss how to better understand and engage in conversation with others regarding the value of suffering as it relates to cultural, social and spiritual factors of grief and loss while maintaining our own self-care as professionals.

What Past Participants Have Said…

“The presenter was a gentle, excellent, and thoughtful who shared many strategies with us and invited us to ask questions. He was a knowledgeable leader. It was wonderful to learn from him.”

“I was given tools that could be used immediately, not just theory. In fact, today I had two grief-related student situations, and found myself calling upon last night’s presentation. One of my students was dismayed because he wanted to attend his uncle’s funeral today and his father wouldn’t allow it. The two of us had a ‘memorial service’ in my office and it was surprisingly beautiful.”
